5th Annual Grad Slam
This year’s Grad Slam will take place from March 19, 2019 to April 2, 2019. This information can be found on the UA Graduate Center website, here: http://gradcenter.arizona.edu/ua-grad-slam
Grad Slam is a campus-wide competition for the best 3-minute talk about graduate student research and discovery. It is an excellent opportunity for students to enhance their communication skills and is an effective way of showcasing to the UA community and the public the innovative research and creative work associated with graduate education at the UA.
All disciplines are encouraged to participate. All talks must be live oral presentations. And did we mention that presenters could win an award of $3000 as well as a chance to compete at the statewide Arizona 3-Minute Grad Slam?
The Graduate Center and the Graduate and Professional Student Council (GPSC) are excited to announce the fifth annual Grad Slam presentation competition. We encourage you to participate in our workshops and the competition this Spring Semester.

Grad Slam is a great opportunity for students to enhance their public speaking skills, especially for diverse audiences. The presentations done at Grad Slam are similar to quick TEDx and Three Minute Thesis (3MT) talks. To help students prepare, the Grad Slam team has arranged a 7-week workshop series on subjects that will help you in Grad Slam and in other presentations. The workshops are open to all graduate students and attendance is not contingent upon participation in the competition, although we hope you do compete.
Should you decide to compete in Grad Slam, you will have the opportunity to win up to $3,000 and will receive complimentary videos of your presentation along with feedback from the judges.
